Anyone going to enter either this year? Was considering entering the pairs with a friend just to see how we do. Down south so probably try the monks qualifier. Just hope we can get tickets.

Will enter both, made the Pairs final last year, its worth trying to qualify just to fish Larford which is probably the best commercial in the country IMO

what do you have to do to enter the fishomania qualifiers these days? I wouldn't mind fishing woodlands and the oaks!

The Fisho qualifiers are all done "on line" on the NFA website.

Dave, No it's open to everyone. Next Monday (14th) is the first day you can apply. No need to rush though, you have until the end of Jan to apply. They then do a random draw and inform you by e-mail if you have been lucky enough to get a ticket.

I'm no. 112 on the Oaks on 7-6-08 for Fish o Mania qualifier.

MMA is also on the list, no. 83 I think.

The Kosovan appears to be on a few and Rhino too.

I'm Back.........to being crap again :-(

Has anyone noticed a massive increase in spam since Fish O tickets were announced? It looks suspiciously like they've sold our email addresses.

Did anyone watch Fisho 16 on Saturday?

Matt Hall won for the 2nd time. £50k in the last 6 years.

He caught mainly Barbel. I class these as Silvers and thoroughly enjoyed it, and know I would enjoy fishing there.

i watghed most of it paul and forgive me for sounding bitter but wasn,t it movedto cudmore to be a fairer venue!!!!.i make that 2 fisho finals at cudmore and 2 end peg wins!!!!.wasn't that the main reason for moving it from hayfields.has everybody says it's obviously harder to get to the final than win the final.with most of the qualifiers on commercials and big weights cauhgt to win i reckon most of the finalists would have won from that peg!!!!.thats not taking away from the fact matt halls a great angler but i reckon the only way the draw would have been fairer would be to use all the lake and have no airators on. even then there would be other factors such as wind direction!i suppose in the end the luck factor is what gives us mere mortals a chance against the big boys and fishing so great.still cant beleive tommy pickering kept saying nobody fancied peg 16 at the draw, matt hall seemed pretty happy when he was interviewed just after pulling it out of the bag

There has been a very interesting debate on Total Fishing. 15 pages long in fact as of yesterday.

My view is that if there can't be all the lake used (Health and Safety reasons), then they should use blockers such as previous winners i.e. Steve Ringer, Neil Machin or Bob Nudd, Alan Scotthorne and then there would be no end pegs apart from great anglers stopping the fish getting through to what would have been end pegs.

Still, it was a great televised fishing competition, and with a few tweaks it could have been even better.

Matt Hall fished very well from his peg with an advantage or two and obviously deserves his 2nd and historic win. £50k in 6 years ain't bad now is it.
