one of the best fishing trips ive ever been on was when i went to southern ireland to fish the river shannon and massive lough Derg . hireing a boat we set off early morning on the lough following directions from a local guide.after about 20 minutes we finally came to our destination a small rocky island about 7miles out! we had been advised where to fish and told that there would be markers where we would need to cast to as this area would have been be pre baited for us. the markers turned out to be weighted pop bottles around 40 yards out,a long chuck for some of us crap anglers after setting up mixing groundbait and positioning our boxes it was time to start fishing. all was quiet for the first hour but then my tip slowly started to move and move ,i struck and i was in !!playing my first irish bream of 6lbs .from then on it was none stop action landing a further 38 bream for a weight of 188lbs
