ok, a bit late but heres a short report on our last match at the dam on sunday.
having a walk around the venue on friday last, mark, lee and bill were practicing for the coming matchlee fishing his usual orange ball size of paste was catching a few carp down the marginsmark fed caster to catch a few up in the water and bill was on the deck catching on wormbasically you could catch fish on any bait on any method.
sunday and i drew peg 9 the same peg which bill had been practicing on the friday,my aim of attack was to have a margin line for paste a 4mt line at the bottom of the slope and a 11mt up in the water line fishing caster.
time is called and i fire out some casters drop some pellets over my paste line then cup in a small amount of worm casters and pellet over the 4mt line.
first put in on the paste line i was immediatley getting pestered by small fish, striking as the float sailed away to nothing, dumping more pellets over this line i changed rigs and went out over my 4mt line with a caster on the hook,my float sailed away and a smashed caster was all i had on the retreivechanging to a piece of worm on the hook i shipped back out and was rewarded instantly with a sail away bite and a pound roach in the net
back out and again the float sailed away this time a crucian of about a pound this continued through out the day landing skimmers, roach orfe and five large carp finishing up with 83 pounds of which 26 pounds were silvers.
a cracking day for me but not enough to win!
it was just enough for fourth with mark (secret squirrel) coming 3rd with 87pounds chris sturgeon 2nd with92 pounds( which included 40 pounds of silvers!!)but it was pot noodle(Lee)who won the honours with an outstanding 99 pounds which also beat the previous venue record!
a cracking day plenty of fish and plenty of banter, just what the doctor ordered!!

with the sun pounding down on us i thought the venue would fish its socks off but no, hard as nails it was!
one bank dominated the match with the winner chris sturgeon and second place Ash both coming from the sun warmed side.
chris in peg 1 fished to the corner and out around 7 mts catching small carp and silvers finishing with 45.3 Ash a rookie to the venue fished shallow at 12-14mt with meat as his bait narrowly missing out of pole positionby ounces finishing with a similar net to chris but with fewer bigger carp for a total of 44.2.
third place went to mr consistant, Andy scott.Andy fished the margins and a line at 5mt to finish with 21.12 of carp.
WELL DONE LADS AND THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

with a good number turning out for this one for a change it was said by a few that it would fish hard ,and right to their word it did!
winner was mr consistant Andy scott, who fishing his margin managed to land carp up to nearly 15lb
second was chris sturgeon on fancied peg 13 fishing up in the water and down his margin landing 5 carp
Dick morley and Ash battled it out for third and fourth places, dick fishing his margins whilst Ash fished meat up in the water only to run out of bait.
no swimmers this week, just top kits getting thrown in and a bit of sword fighting here and there
thanks to all who turned up for this epic battle.
the banter was good but ....
clampy you were top dollar matey

Word on the hook link is that after a DAC open match on Sunday 14th at Thornhill Pond, Worms Worms Worms finished last. Stu, can you please confirm or deny this and where is your match report?
